Paper Umbrellas: A throng of people spent more than thirteen hours making paper umbrellas. Some students, a very cute couple, took the time to show me how to make them. I made two, and the three of us quickly determined that they were the worst umbrellas in the bunch.
Ever Vigilant: The stakes are very high for the police. The tear gas in September caused the movement to grow. I witnessed several instance of protesters and police working closely to keep the peace.
Bearing It: The students, standing atop the barricades gave as good as they got in the exchange. But there was a line they would not cross. They stayed behind the barricades and when the conversation grew too intense they asked the police to step in.
Admiralty Main Site I: In October this site was still filled with nearly 10,000 people per night.  By December there was no sign that people had spent 70 days living on this highway.
Admiralty Main Site II: In October this site was still filled with nearly 10,000 people per night.  By December there was no sign that people had spent 70 days living on this highway.
Last Warning: Announcements are made that the streets will be cleared. Large buses for transporting prisoners are parked on the street. The next step is that the banners this officer carries on his back will be unfurled. They show the protestors that action is imminent. The final step is actual arrests. The banners don't come out on this night. The announcements are enough, and at this point the police outnumber the protesters by a significant margin.
Presence: At 11:30 the Gou Wu has now been taking place for two and a half hours. The patience of the police is diminished. More officers flood the scene and push everyone onto the sidewalk. They posture as if they will clear the streets with force.
Gou Wu II: The Gou Wu (shopping) street action ramps-up as more people arrive to demonstrate
Gou Wu: Protesters gather in Mong Kok to "Go shopping" as C.Y. Leung implored citizens of Hong Kong to do once the streets were cleared.  The protesters seized the opportunity to hold street actions under the pretence that they are following Leung's instructions.
Shopping: This gentleman was a regular at the Gou Wu protests. I had seen him on two previous nights.
Main Protest Site In Mong Kok: Just weeks after the clearing of the streets, there is no remaining hint that for 70 days, thousands of people lived in these streets
